Capstone Projects Design Based on 5G Experimental Platform Deployed on Campus

With the rapid development of the wireless communication industry, it has become a challenging problem for engineering education on telecommunication programs for senior students to catch up with the latest development of technologies. In this paper, based on a 5G experimental platform which is jointly built by the university-enterprise partnership, we design and implement a lab platform to effectively develop capstone projects on the campus of our university. In these capstone projects, the students are guided to design the power control schemes and improve the coverage performance of 5G wireless networks. Our pedagogical experiences show that the participating students have obtained deep and direct engineering experiences and technical skills.
