Accurate Modeling of HE-Boost Topology and Compensation Network Design

The non-isolated HE-Boost topology has been widely used in the area of voltage boost due to the advantages of continuous input and output current, high efficiency and easy control. The freewheeling modes caused by leakage inductance of transformer are ignored by conventional small signal modeling method, and the model accuracy is low, which is not conducive to the analysis of control stability and design of compensation network. Using the switching element averaging method to model the He-Boost converter considering leakage inductance of transformer, forward voltage of diode, parasitic resistance of input inductor and output capacitor. The modified model and simulated results are basically the same, which is consistent with experimental results; the maximum amplitude and phase error at low frequency band do not exceed 1dB and 3° respectively. Using the modified model to design compensating network, the results show that the modified model has higher accuracy, and the theoretical design of controller is in good agreement with experimental result.
