Perturbed ISL Analysis in LEO Satellite Constellation

In the satellite mobile communication systems, there are direct channels among satellites by inter-satellite link (ISL), which could increase the autonomy of the constellation network. The relative position between satellites in the low earth orbit (LEO) constellation is time-varying, and the satellites are not continuously visible. Due to the impact of perturbation, the ISL has a first-order long-term change, which increases satellite visibility and the complexity of inter-satellite transmission loss analysis. We conduct a series of theoretical derivations and simulations. A more comprehensive LEO constellation ISL numerical model has been established. Transmission loss can be analyzed by this model. The research work provides some theoretical foundations for the research on key technologies of constellations.
