Circuit Modeling of the Cable Shield Injection

Cable shield injection is a kind of pulsed current injection (PCI) test method defined in MIL-STD-188-125-1/2. In this work, taking shielded coaxial cable as an example, a Spice model integrating the model of pulsed current generator with the model of shield coaxial cables for conducted susceptibilities, is introduced and validated by experiment. Furthermore, by analyzing the role of transfer impedance and admittance, some unessential factors for cable shield injection simulation were removed, and then a simplified model is proposed. Comparing to the complete one, the simplified model keeps almost the same accuracy while the complexity is significantly reduced.
