Assistance for Quadriplegic with BCI Enabled Wheelchair and IoT

The state of paralysis of the body from the shoulder down is Quadriplegia. As a result of damage or injury to the spinal cord, this state of paralysis occurs, which delays the signals from the motor neurons from being transmitted to various body parts. Without the help of a life aid, elderly and quadriplegic individuals find it difficult to perform regular duties and tasks. This paper introduces the concept of a wheelchair with a stretcher and an automated home driven by Brainwave. To coordinate the movement of the wheelchair along with its Wheelchair-Stretcher transition and the Automated Home, it utilizes a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). The Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a modern technology that allows electroencephalography (EEG) to exclusively record brain waves so that they can be measured and analyzed by a computer. The Neurosky Mind wave Mobile headset is the BCI tool used for the execution of brainwave processing. Here the signal occurs due to the blinking of the eye and signals from the brain to trigger and control the movement of the wheelchair and appliances at home. Inside the machine, a joystick is often developed to control the device manually by the patient's caretaker. This system is designed and built to assist quadriplegic people to perform some of their everyday activities on their own and to create a sense of independence and trust in them.
