Application of Signals Reflected from an Aircraft for Monitoring an ILS Glide Path Position

The paper proposes an original method for monitoring the ILS glide path position. The method is based on the reception of radio-beacon landing system signals reflected from the aircraft and measurement of the parameters of signals that carry information about the deviation of the aircraft from the glide path. Experimental results for reception and measurement of the information parameters of signals from the ILS glide path beacon in the VHF band, reflected by descending aircraft are presented. The reception points were located in the area of the inner marker beacon and in the area of the outer marker beacon.
