A Zero-Dimensional Model for Internal Combustion Engine Simulation and Some Modeling Results

A one-zone zero-dimensional model of internal combustion engine was developed. It calculates a four-stroke cycle of diesel, gas diesel and gas engines. Pulsations of pressure and temperature in the intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as engine-turbocharger joint operation are calculated. For gas and gas diesel engines, the gaseous fuel may have any composition of twenty different gases. Properties of working media for any composition of gaseous fuel are calculated. The loss of filling efficiency in case of using gaseous fuel is taken into account. The model was used in the process of conversion of diesel engines into gas and gas diesel engines which demonstrated high power, fuel efficiency and ecological parameters.
