BURST: Software and Simulation Solutions of an Autonomous Vehicle

Autonomous vehicles, an area on which a great amount of research and investment is concentrated, are seen as transportation solutions of the future. With the desire to share some of the software and hardware solutions we have developed in our autonomous vehicle design, we have summed up our current work as a publication. This is a summary of the BURST team's work on signal processing at TEKNOFEST, a national organization containing an autonomous vehicle competition. Designed to perform lane tracking, traffic signs recognition and representative passenger pick-up and drop off, this vehicle consists of sensor data processing, object detection and control. The sensors and software packages used are presented with their technical background. The aim of our study is to share our experience with other university teams that are active on this topic. In this context, we share our simulation code with this article as open source.
