High Speed Interconnect: Impact of Novel Strip Line for IOT Application

As large amount of data is transferred at multi Gigabyte speed, Signal Integrity (SI) becomes more important. Major factor affecting signal integrity is crosstalk. As data rate of signal increases, crosstalk in PCB increases. Crosstalk happens when the vitality in one signal (aggressor) couples onto another signal (victim) unfavorably influencing the victim's signal performance. Coupling makes the signal of one strip overwhelm the signal of other, while they're not genuinely contacting each other and whether the strips are keeping up a minimum separation between them. In this paper a new topology for strip line with guarded trace and via in between the two strips is been proposed in order to reduce the crosstalk. When vias are placed on guarded trace, vias connect guard of strip line to ground plane. Elimination of interference can be performed by grounding the vias on guard trace to the ground between aggressor and victim, and is shown as an outcome of this work.
