Robust Transmitted Waveform Design for Millimeter Wave Radar Based on SINR and MI Criteria

Traditional radar transmitted waveform design algorithms tend to consider that the jamming launched by the jammer can be captured accurately by the radar. However, as the signal components in the environment become more and more complex, the jamming spectrum is not fully known in many practical scenes. In view of this situation, this paper first assumes that the millimeter radar can capture the range of the jamming spectrum, and then determines a jamming spectrum as the most adverse situation to design the robust transmitted waveform by maximizing the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and mutual information (MI). Simulation results show that the designed two transmitted waveforms can effectively guarantee the detection and recognition capabilities of the radar.
