Research of a Predictable Wiebe Combustion Model for Engine Management System Development

To match the real time requirement during ECU software development, the most common used engine model is map based. With increasing complexity of the software architecture, the need of a detailed engine model, which has knock phenomenon and response to spark angel retard, is also increasing. In this work, a predictable Wiebe combustion model is developed using MATLAB Simulink tool and integrated into GT-Suite environment to create a detailed 1D engine model, which can both accelerates software development process and increases ECU pre-calibration precision.
