Study on the Vibration and Noise of PMSM By Considering the Vector Magnetostrictive Property in a Non-Oriented Silicon Steel Sheet

The magnetostriction phenomenon in the silicon steel is one of main reasons causing the vibration and noise of motor core. To analyze the core deformation induced by magnetostriction in the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) as accurately as possible, the vector magnetostriction property in non-oriented silicon steels is modeled mathematically based on lots of experimental data. The effect by taking vector magnetostriction property into account on vibration and noise distribution of a PMSM is simulated using a coupled magnetic-force-sound field. The results are helpful for studying the noise reduction in the PMSM.
