Developing of Multiple-narrowband Antenna to Detect Partial Discharge-emitted Signal under Radio Communication Noise Environment

Partial discharge (PD) detection is important for high voltage equipment to monitor insulation condition. Ultra-high frequency (UHF) antenna are used as a sensor to detect PD-emitted electromagnetic wave in the UHF band. However, some radio communication and broadcasting signals could affect PD detection as noise, having line spectra. Based on this reason, the authors developed a multiple narrowband (MNB) antenna, which can eliminate the interference of the communication frequencies, selectively. gas under the radio communication noise. The measurement results demonstrated that the MNB antenna is suitable to detect PD under the communication noise.
