Influence of Tube Structure on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of HTS Maglev Vehicles

The maglev transportation system is getting more and more attention due to its safety and low drag. In this paper, the aerodynamic characteristics of the maglev vehicle in the tube under atmospheric pressure are studied by opening the different sealed doors with the help of the “Super-Maglev” test system, the three sealed doors on the tube of the test system are regarded as the tunnel circulation ports, and the ANSYS-FLUENT software was used for simulation calculation. The study found that the aerodynamic drag decreases with the increase in the number of openings of the sealed doors or circulation ports, and also changes due to the different opening positions of them. For the design of the future tunnel structure, the construction and symmetrical location distribution of the circulation ports or cross aisles are suggested.
