Dual Band High Efficiency Orthogonal Double Sided Puzzle Shaped MIMO Antenna MM-Wave Applications

This paper proposes an orthogonal double sided puzzle shaped MIMO antenna for wireless technology. The MIMO comprises of four puzzle shaped elements which have been printed on a Rogers RT5880 substrate with grounds and ground depressions to provide a wide bandwidth. The elements are placed orthogonal to one another with patches of copper (annealed) of width 6.6 mm and length 4.8 mm with a depression on the side edges and on the top edges which makes the elements of MIMO look like a puzzle. This MIMO antenna represents dual band behaviour as the two bands function in the range 40 GHz-62GHz with return loss $(\mathrm{S}11 \lt -20$ dB) below -20 dB and with isolation $(\mathrm{S}21 \lt -15$ dB) below -15 dB providing a high radiation efficiency and total efficiency.
