Master-Slave Robust Voltage Control of PV/FC/Storage DC Microgrids

This paper deals with voltage maintenance of PV/FC/Storage DC microgrids under different load demands. To achieve this goal, a master-slave robust control strategy is proposed. Thus, the storage unit serves as the master system with a cascaded voltage controller composed of proportional integral and sliding mode controllers. On the other hand, PV and FC sources act as the slaves with their own sliding mode current controllers. The PV and FC sources with boost converters supply the medium power of the load while the storage unit with a buck-boost converter is responsible of the load variations in order to stabilize the whole system. The designed control strategy performance is verified using computer simulations on a DC microgrid in the presences various load demands. The suggested control approach guarantees the regulation of the DC-bus voltage very well.
