Features of Noise Characteristics of Frequency-Modulated Autodyne Radars

The results of calculation and analysis of the noise characteristics of frequency-modulated (FM) autodyne radars are presented. It is established that for a small value of the external feedback parameter, the noise at the output of the autodyne with FM is a stationary random process. In the case when the magnitude of the external feedback parameter of the autodyne with the FM is comparable with unity, the noise characteristics have a periodic non-stationarity of the rms noise level. Experimental data were obtained on the Ka-band Gunn-diode frequency-modulated autodyne radar sensor.
