Analysis of Shielding Effectiveness of an Automotive Display through Simulation and Testing

The radiated emissions (RE) measurement is mandatory so that a product can enter mass production. By using 3D full EM simulation, the time-to-market of an automotive product can be reduced, by skipping expensive and time-consuming investigations in laboratory. A case study concerning modifications proposed to a DUT design after identifying RE issues by EM simulation is reported in this paper. The simulations scenarios are validated by experimental test results, which confirms the effectiveness of the procedure.
