Power Supply for Powerful Generators With High Pulse Repetition Rate

A new approach to the construction of powerful power supplies with stable output voltage for pulsed power devices is proposed. The solution allows to almost completely eliminate the ripple of the power source output voltage and at the same time reduce the requirements for the capacitive filter. This is especially true for powering devices with pulsed power consumption at frequencies that exceed the frequency of the supply network. The problem is solved by using an additional power supply of relatively low power, designed to smooth the output voltage ripple. This power source is connected in series with the Larionov rectifier bridge. Its main task is to maintain the given amplitude of the output voltage, regardless of the output voltage from the rectifier. In practice, this additional power source replaces the function of the output capacitive filter with the value of capacity tending to infinity. This approach allows you to create reliable small-sized inexpensive power sources with stable output voltage.
