Characteristics Analysis of Linear Submersible Electric Motors for Oil Production

At the present time in the Russian Federation there are many low-rate wells with high-viscosity production and great depth of formation. Linear submersible motor driven plunger pumps are used to operate such deep wells with low flow rates. Submersible pumping units with linear electric motor are produced by several enterprises. The article discusses the characteristics of linear submersible motors: swing frequency, stroke length, power, efficiency, force and other. The dependences of the efficiency on the power and the swing frequency are plotted. Formulas for determining the tractive effort and power of linear submersible electric motors are given. Conclusions are made about the prospects for using linear submersible electric motors for oil production.
