Design and Experimental Verification on Characteristics of Local Electro-Hydraulic Generation System

Local electro-hydraulic generation systems (LEHGS) are electrically powered local hydraulic sources with high integration and high power density so that they have been employed by aircraft to provide hydraulic power in case of emergency situations. For this purpose, A LEHGS based on electro-hydraulic pump (EHP) was established in this paper. The structure and the working principle of the LEHGS were provided. After the mathematical model of each part of the LEHGS was built, simulative validation based on AMESim platform was carried subsequently. Furthermore, the performance of the LEHGS was verified through experimental tests of the no-load characteristics as well as the flow-pressure properties. And the results revealed that the LEHGS meets the requirements of backup oil supply for landing gear systems hence that not only it is able to maintain the pressure with 28MPa and the flow with 14.2L/min simultaneously, but the total efficiency of the LEHGS exceeds 70%.
