Numerical models for VLF seismic-acoustic propagation prediction: a review

The author surveys numerical modeling techniques in underwater acoustics that are suited for predicting seismic-acoustic wave propagation at very low frequencies (VLF). Differential theoretical approaches, developed within ocean acoustics, marine crustal, and exploration seismology are outlined, including examples of integral transform, mode, ray, discrete coordinate, and hybrid techniques. A topically organized bibliography is presented.<
