Islanding Detection of Micro-grid using Ridge Regression

This paper shows us the use of machine learning to detect islanding condition in micro-grid. Islanding is the condition where micro-grid gets disconnected from the main grid, where it contains the loads and the distribution generation and stations. Whenever there is a need of the maintenance or having fault condition,islanding is necessitate. There are distinct methods which should be used for detecting the islanding mode. Active and passive methods are generally used. In the passive technique there is aproblem of large non-detection zone(NDZ). The main research focuses on reducing NDZ. In this paper, ridge regression technique is used for the detection of islanding condition. This research paper contains the details about the advantages of using ridge regression for the islanding detection. PYTHON is implemented to validate the process.
