Cascading failures of overload behaviors on interdependent networks

Complex networks always affect or depend on other networks, in particular critical infrastructure networks, such as the traffic network, the electrical network and the communication network. For these highly connected networks where loads can be redistributed between nodes, any attack mode can cause a cascade of overload failures. Cascading failures of overload behavior can in turn lead to the collapse of one or the entire network, which becomes the main threat to network security. Here, based on the establishment of a two-layer interdependent network, we study the network robustness under different attack strategies and connection strategies considering attack strength (r), coupling strength (q) and different network topologies. , we conclude that the response of the cascade failure is more evident in the assorted connections which keep more concentrated load nodes. Theoretical solutions are useful for revealing cascading failures of overload behaviors in large-scale networks composed of multiple networks in the real world.
