The Research and Accomplishment of Standardization and Serialization of SMT/A Silicone Connectors

Silicone rubber keys are also called connectors are mainly used in electronic industry such as game keyboard, electrical appliance, calculators and so on. Their main function is as a electrical on and off connector. It looks simple but widely used in various products. The key problems is assembly, production of the connector. In our research, we try to solve these problems. A new assembly technology are proposed. If all connectors are assembled on PCB by placement machine then a lot labour work can be saved. Therefore, a novel SMT/A method is proposed. That is all the connectors can be assembled in the hole of PCB by using the placement machine with the help of the special nozzles. These connectors can be provided by tape reel form or by using vibration form for the placement machine to assembly. We have succeed in the assembly. And An apply for standardization and serialization of SMT/A silicone connectors are submitted the state standardization committee.
