Performance Analysis of Fuel Cell using PI Controller

The fast response of high gain PID controller is most commonly used to control the Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). In this work, the effect of variations of PI gains on the performance of a PEMFC fuel cell has been observed. The proportional (P) and integral (I) values greatly affect the quality of output from fuel cell. The simulation work is carried out in MATLAB environment. The well-designed PI controller yields in excellent performance of PEMFC fuel cell under small disturbances in input.
