Observer-Based Non-singular Terminal Sliding Mode Control of Boost converters

In order to overcome the difficulty of measuring the inductor current, as well as to solve the problem of non-minimum phase of boost converters, this paper proposes a novel observer-based non-singular terminal sliding mode (NTSM) control approach. In the structure of double closed loops, the unknown parameter perturbations and external disturbances are considered and a SM observer is first designed as the inner loop. Then taking the observed state signals, a novel energy storage function is constructed to contain all the nonlinear dynamics of inductor and capacitor so that the problem of non-minimum phase can be solved. Finally a NTSM controller is designed as the external loop to realize the transient control of inductor and capacitor simultaneously. Simulation results validate the proposed approach.
