Deadbeat Predictive Current Control for PMSM Based on Improved Luenberger Observer

In this paper, we present an improved Luenberger observer using in the control of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) current loop. In the initial phase, the actual values of the system differ significantly from the estimates of the Luenberger observer. Therefore, there is an obvious peak phenomenon which affects the measurement of disturbance. Generally, a larger gain is used to ensure the performance of the observer. However, the greater the gain of the observer, the greater the peak. To solve the above problem, a Luenberger observer with time-varying gain is proposed. The observer gain is replaced by a time-varying function to suppress the peak overcompensation of the initial disturbance estimation. The simulation results in Matlab/Simulink environment show that the improved observer can reduce the d-axis current peak by 79.1% and the q-axis current peak by 75%.
