Research on Inertia Support Control Strategy Based on Energy Storage Dynamic Compensation

Virtual moment of inertia control can effectively improve the frequency response performance of high proportion wind power, but it still has some limitations. The reason is that the rotor kinetic energy provided by the Wind turbine is very limited. When the rotor speed drops to a certain limit, the Wind turbine will exit the frequency modulation and resume the speed. Because of the uncertainty of wind output, there is still a certain probability that the system will produce a secondary frequency drop. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a coordinated control strategy of wind storage, that is, adding liquid flow battery to the grid side of the wind farm to supplement the rotor kinetic energy of the unstable wind turbine, so as to ensure the stability of the wind turbine. In order to maximize the moment of inertia of Wind turbine rotor, PSCAD/EMTDC is used to establish the optimal simulation model of wind storage joint system. The simulation results show that the control strategy proposed in this paper is effective: the frequency drop problem caused by the extraction of rotor kinetic energy can be significantly improved, and then the frequency support ability of high proportion wind power grid connected system can be improved, which verifies the feasibility of wind farm configuration and energy storage.
