A Route Stable Energy and Mobility aware routing protocol for IoT

Mobility enhancement in Low power device has always been a great deal. With the advancement in The Internet of Things (IoT), mobility has become one of its characteristic. Routing in IoT is challenging and mobility even complicates it more. The Routing over Low Power and Lossy Networks (ROLL) group at Internet Engineering Task Force (IEFT) developed a routing protocol for some IoT devices called RPL, a protocol for communication among low power devices in a lossy network. Through RPL protocol has enhanced the routing in Low power lossy networks but it does not address the issue of mobility, it is mostly for static networks. A decent number of protocols are developed for integrating mobility in RPL. One of them is EMA-RPL. The issue with EMA-RPL is that the routes are unstable and the preferred parent of mobile node sometimes changes frequently. This work enhances the EMA-RPL protocol by selecting the preferred parent of a mobile node which last for a considerable amount of time and hence improving route stability. The proposed method observe the speed of the mobile node and accordingly decide which node can be selected as a parent node for the mobile node.
