Economic Dispatch on a Power System Network Interconnected With Solar Farm

The present paper deals with an Economic Dispatch (ED) on electric power system with the integration of photovoltaic (PV) plants. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm has been used for solving the aforementioned ED. Meteorological data have been considered from Ghardaïa city located in the south of Algeria. The corresponding solar irradiance has been modeled as a beta distribution function. The proposed algorithm has been implemented on a standard IEEE 14-bus test system. From an environmental point of view, it is imperative to think about the substitution of thermal units emitting polluting gases by mega structures based on solar or wind. According to the obtained results, the prospects for their integration into large electrical systems are very promising.
