Design of 4-Bit Dual Edge Triggered Counter using Quantum DOT Cellular Automata

Design of combinational and sequential circuits at nano scale are effectively constructed using Quantum Cellular Automata (QCA) technology. The key benefits of using QCA circuits such as minimum power consumption, high speed and low area can be obtained when compared to transistor based technology. In this paper the design of 4 bit counter using SR, JK, D and T flip flop based on dual edge triggered (DET) using QCA technology is analyzed. The proposed dual edge triggered structure (DET) offers high switching speed & low power consumption than single edge triggered QCA circuits. The important parameter of the circuits such as cell count, area utilization, energy dissipation are computed and compared using QCA designer tool 2.0.3 version.
