Research on Formation Mechanism and Behavior Control of Adiabatic Shear of Hard Turning Die Steel

Based on the analysis of the construction of hard turning geometric model by Third Wave Advantedge system, with the help of hard turning experiments, the influence of the change of cutting speed, feed rate, and cutting depth on chip morphology in the cutting process is analyzed. Then the formation mechanism of serrated chips in hard turning is systematically studied, which provides theoretical support for optimizing the cutting parameters and guiding the actual production. Based on the analysis of temperature, stress, and strain rate during hard turning, this article study the adiabatic shear behavior and chip formation mechanism of hard turning in detail, and the active control of sawtooth chip formation by adiabatic shear in hard turning is characterized.
