An Integrated Simulation Platform for Spectrum Cooperation in VANETs

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) plays an important role in the 5G technology. With the increase of connected vehicles and the growing demand for VANETs, how to utilize the wireless spectrum resources efficiently is particularly important. Spectrum cooperation has become an important direction of VANETs for which simulation is a practical and effective research method. However, most of the existing network simulation software cannot support spectrum level operations. This paper proposes an integrated simulation platform for spectrum cooperation in VANETs that can import real maps and vehicle movement trajectories, provide access to spectrum cooperation algorithms, implement frequency conversion, and display simulation results in various ways. The evaluation results show that the integrated simulation platform can provide real and accurate support for the study of various schemes of VANETs including spectrum cooperation.
