Mathematical Modelling and Controller Design for Interacting Hybrid Two Tank System (IHTTS)

Interacting hybrid two tank system (IHTTS) is a highly nonlinear system because of interactions between the conical and spherical tanks. This paper deals with Mathematical modelling and controller design for nonlinear IHTTS. The aim is to analyze the issues of multivariable systems in the presence of nonlinearities during interactions between the two tanks. The modelling of IHTTS is developed by considering the non-linear interactions between the tanks. A conventional PI controller is designed for IHTTS lab setup to control the liquid levels in both the tanks. The open loop interactions are analyzed at different valve positions. A decouple is designed to eliminate the interactions between the tanks.
