A Scientometric Analysis: Finance and Investors under the Context of Internet Development

Providing services via Internet technology is increasingly popular, and the financial sector is no exception. As a part of the modern service industry, finance has developed rapidly in the Internet world, provoking researchers to study the effects of finance and investor on various dimensions of the societal life. Although many studies have analyzed the impact of the Internet on finance, few of them have mentioned the investors, such as their attention, sentiment and attitudes. Based on the 481 articles retrieved by Web of Science, this paper makes a systematic review, which can provide a direction for future research and make up the research gap. Research papers published between 1989 and 2020 were selected and grouped according to publication year, institutions and publication sources. The results showed that in recent years, the publishing industry in various countries developed rapidly, and the research fields involved finance, management, economics, organizational law, business, and other disciplines. Also, U.S. and Chinese institutions excel at hosting such interdisciplinary work. In addition, different types of keywords present significant interactions in the visualization: (a) internet-based research, (b) financial markets and investors, (c) social media and big data, (d) internet of things and block chain, and (e) trust.
