Investigation of residential energy hub operation suited for smart grid applications

In this article, the electrical properties, as well as the economic aspects of the DC-DC photovoltaic converters for DC microgrid, are described. Principally a theoretical overview of the circuit configuration for the selected DC-DC stages of the DC microgrid system is shown. The block diagram of the energy hub is proposed and main building blocks of the system are solved. The physical samples of some building blocks were built and tested in laboratory conditions. Then the simulations of optimized solutions were done in PLECS simulation software. Two different energy flow scenarios between PV panels, energy storage system and AC grid were investigated.
