Concept development of a portable reader for personal dosimetry based on the OSL in YAP:Mn

A concept of a portable reader design for personal dosimetry based on optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) readout and using novel YAP:Mn dosimetric detectors is described. The design issues considering functionality and reliability of this instrument in emergency dosimetry are discussed and specific features of the concept proposed are explained. The provisional specifications of the reader and corresponding individual dosimeter are given.
