Design Of CSRR Based Bandstop Filter For Terahertz Frequencies

A band stop filter is designed in terahertz range using metamaterial approach. The proposed work implements metamaterial using CSRR which consist of gold conductor layer on either sides of a GaAs dielectric substrate. The complementary split rings are carved out of the upper conducting layer. FDTD simulation results show an insertion loss of -33.5 dB and group delay of -0.03ns at 0.3THz. The filter provides a deep rejection at 0.3THz and low losses at passband in the terahertz region.
