Research on Application of New Intelligent Distributed Feeder Automation

This paper considers that the intelligent distributed feeder automation (IDFA) can effectively improve the reliability of distribution network. Slow distributed feeder automation (SDFA) is one mode of IDFA. The definition, implementation scheme and key technologies of SDFA are proposed. The distribution network is built based on Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS). The SDFA is verified and analyzed through simulation experiments. It is shown that the SDFA has the characteristics of flexible configuration, fast fault isolation and restoration of power supply, and can effectively improve the reliability of power supply in distribution network by the action case of SDFA deployed in Pudong Core District of Shanghai.
