On The Choice of The Gear For Aircraft Electromechanical Actuator

Translational action actuators are traditionally used for most control objects on aircrafts. The mechanism of translational action ensures the most rational use of free space. In the paper, the review of mechanical gears is carried out and design of electromechanical actuators of translational action for control of aerodynamic rudders of an aircraft are considered. The paper also presents the optimal mechanism of the translational action for the actuator. It was concluded as a result of the design choice that for the electromechanical actuator the use of a ball screw gear - having small dimensions, high efficiency and the possibility of reverse.
