Galactic Swarm Optimization-PTS strategy to minimize PAPR in WP-OFDM system

The sky-high PAPR is the most encountered problem in multi-carrier modulation scheme which asks for immediate inspection as it leads to power inefficiency in the radio frequency segment of the transmitter. PTS has been a successful technique to dampen PAPR in MCM systems or more precisely in OFDM systems. Surprisingly, conventional PTS technique was an intelligent way to bring down PAPR but its ability cannot be harnessed to maximum potential because it demands exhaustive searching for every combinations of authorized phase factors. This paper strategize efforts to minimize high PAPR with not so much entanglement. WP-OFDM is used as a substitute to the OFDM. The greatest incitement for pursuing WP-OFDM is the flexibility and outstanding frequency selectivity they offer. Further, a meta-heuristic GSO-PTS technique is employed to bring down PAPR, bring down search complexity.
