SDN Applications and Plugins in the OpenDaylight Controller

Today's networks have grown dramatically due to the advance of Information Technologies. Such growth has led private and public companies in various parts of the world to change their approach to operating the network infrastructure, which uses open source software. One of the network technologies that has attracted much attention in the last decade is the so-called software-defined networks (SDN). This article presents a detailed study of applications that have been implemented with software-defined networks and the differences that exist with applications that have been implemented in traditional networks. The results obtained with OpenDaylight SDN controller are presented.
