Design of Grid Array Antenna for Integration of Multiple Antennas

This paper provides a grid array antenna for integration of multiple antennas in a single low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate which is assembled with a cylindrical dielectric radome. For the purpose of achieving a high electromagnetic isolation, optimized configuration and additional shielding structures, for example, fencing vias and air gaps are introduced to suppress the undesired mutual coupling among the antennas. The simulated results demonstrate a good performance of the proposed grid array antenna, as well as excellent electromagnetic isolation among multiple antennas.
