Design Strategy, Modelling and Simulation of MEMS-based micro-tensile Acceleration Sensor for Safety and Arming device

This research paper has considered multidisciplinary technology which integrates most of the essentials from wide section of science and engineering. Paper reports the design strategy, modelling and simulation of MEMS based monolithic acceleration sensor which is micro-tensile and is in application for safety and arming (SAM) purpose. The simulation results are obtained using SOLIDWORKS GUI for Safe and Arm mechanism for different `g'. Design for MEMS based technology for this microchip is structured in such a way that it has both movable and non-movable parts which utilizes mechanical properties, structural properties and material properties that may be and may not be electronically controlled. The design proposed for in this paper is aimed to achieve reliability, safety and cost effectiveness for mass-producibility. The MEMS based SAM is used as a function to ensure the safety and allow detonation only when certain deployment criteria are satisfied. Thus, this paper presents the design analysis, modelling and nonlinear 3D dynamic simulation of microminiature monolithic MEMS based acceleration sensor for safety and arming application.
