Design of a Meandered Line Microstrip Patch Antenna with Array Implementation

In this work, a simple microstrip patch antenna (MPA) is presented with 1 × 2 array of the meander line structure implementation. An MPA is designed at 4 GHz for radar application. After addition of meander line structure to MPA, gain, directivity and reflection co-efficient drop (S11 parameter) are increased up to 4.5012, 6.912 and -42.8 dB respectively. Here 1 × 2 array concept is executed with λ/2 distance between basic meander line structures. The simulated result in HFSS shows much more improvement in gain and directivity of 1 × 2 array meandered line MPA than a simple MPA.
