Reduction of the shielding effect on the coupling factor of an EV WPT system

The dynamic or in motion charging is a solution that became a suitable choice to solve the electric vehicles (EV's) battery related issues. Many researchers and vehicle manufacturers are working to develop efficient charging system for EVs which are based on electromagnetic emissions to transfer power. Thus, these electromagnetic emissions must be reduced in order to avoid harmful effects on their environment (humans, pets, electronic devices ...). The reduction is generally obtained by a shielding plate, however this shielding can impact the coupling between the primary and secondary coils. This paper treats a method for reducing the shielding effect on the coupling factor in wireless power transfer system application.
