MPC Predictive Control of DC/AC Converter for autonomous load

In this paper we will present a predictive control model (MPC) to control a single-phase inverter dedicated to a photovoltaic (PV) application for residential or industrial use. The predictive control model (MPC) is based on the discretization of the continuous time model of the system to have a discrete time model that allows us to predict the future value of the controlled variable in different possible control situations, and concerning the cost function defined by user to ensure the control objectives decided to find its minimum. A control combination that minimizes the cost function is selected and applied to the system for the next time interval and the same thing is repeated in the interval that follows. The main objective of this work is to analyze the characteristics of various parameter variations and to ensure the best following of the reference with the minimum harmonic distortion of the voltage. The simulation of the control algorithm and the inverter model were developed in MATLAB.
