Large Scale Phased Array Calibration Using Satellites

We describe a new method for calibrating large phased arrays using satellites of opportunity (SarCal), that permits rapid calibration of large phased arrays on site, and removes the need for expensive near field facility testing. This calibration method has been demonstrated on a large S-Band phased array, and its accuracy validated.
