Series-Connected Current-Source Inverters: fSW = 60 Hz

Pulsewidth-modulated series-connected current-source inverters (SC-CSIs) are a good candidate for high-voltage applications. In this letter, a new SC-CSI with a switching frequency of 60 Hz is proposed. Compared with the conventional one, the proposed inverter features lower switching losses, higher dc current utilization, and reduced passive component sizing.
